If your bill balance is higher than what you are accustomed to, the following factors should be considered:
Data Charges
Each Postpaid plan comes with data allotment. For example, the Postpaid Core Plan comes with 7GB of data.
If you are on a new Freedom Postpaid Plan, data overage will be blocked. This means once your data is exhausted, you will not incur any additional data charges. You will however have the option of purchasing a data add on. If you decide to, the cost of the data add on of your choice will be shown on your next bill.
If you are on an old Postpaid Plan, data services can still be used after the allotted data bundle is depleted. It will be charged at the prevailing overage rate of Afl 1.00/MB per MB.
NB: If you are on the ‘MaxSMART Plan’ you will not be charged for data overage. Instead, the data speed will throttle down to 2G, allowing continued use at no extra cost.
International Charges
Calls made to international destinations are only covered under one of our new Freedom Postpaid Plans, and that is the Postpaid Plus Plan. This means that if you are on the Postpaid Smart Plan or the Postpaid Core Plan, international transactions will therefore be shown separately on your bill. You will be able to see the date/time calls were made, and the respective charges.
If you have a Postpaid Smart Plan (Start SMART, Go SMART, More SMART, Premium SMART, Elite SMART or Max SMART), under the Anywhere Voice Bundle, you are able to make calls to USA, Canada and UK (Landline) only. You will incur additional international charges once your Anywhere Voice Bundle is depleted and you continue to make international calls, irrespective of where you are calling. Destinations outside of these (USA, Canada and UK [Landline] only) will attract international charges and would therefore be shown separately on your bill.
NB: Our Postpaid Plans do not cover messages sent to international numbers.
Domestic Charges
These are transactions made outside your bundle allotment or once your bundle has been fully exhausted.
It is important to note that some transactions (Data charges and Credit U) can surpass your Credit Limit. For example, if your Credit Limit is $5000, it is possible for this to be exceeded as a result of data charges or Credit U transactions.
Roaming Charges
Once you are Roaming, you will incur charges for all outgoing transactions (calls, messages, data). If you are on a Roaming Bundle Plan, these rates will be reduced. Once your data bundle has been exhausted, you will not be able to continue data roaming. As a postpaid customer, you will have the option of purchasing a data add-on or a new data plan. Once the Roaming Bundle has expired, calls, text messages and data will revert to the standard roaming rates. These transactions will be shown on your next bill.
If you are NOT on a Roaming Plan, you will be charged for incoming transactions.
If call divert is enabled on your device, ALL calls going to voicemail will be charged whether or not you are on a Roaming Bundle Plan.
